THIS IS NOT AN ATHLETIC EVENT
The hikes are between 4-10 miles, paced at 2-3 miles per hour. There are frequent stops for fellowship and food/beverages, and rucks, weight and boots are optional.

Since the dawn of time, hiking in boots and carrying heavy things has been an important part of military culture. A simple hike with veteran company reminds us that the camaraderie we once had in the military will never truly die. We will always be there for each other. That is why IW’s Silkies Hikes will continue to hit the streets year after year.

Silkies (or ranger panties) are an old military tradition now eliminated, but due to their sweet nostalgia, we’ve chosen to revive these bad Larrys!
